These Little Piggies Know All: The Art of Toe Reading

Okay, this is the strangest thing. A few months ago, as part of our Summer Spaaah Series, I had my toes read. Toe reading is a form of energy healing based on the theory that our bodies record the stories of our lives. The positions and formation of our toes reveal insights into our pasts, emotions, talents and potential. During my reading at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts -- where toe reading is taught as part of their curriculum -- I was told that I had princess toes, which of course has nothing to do with my disdain for cleaning toilets but instead means that I was given a gift that I could potentially do big, wonderful things with. Other than the princess potential, the rest of the session revealed issues I innately already knew: I'm pulled in too many directions, I bear the weight of the world on my shoulders, I'm quiet and introverted yet want to be heard, yada, yada, yada. The toe reader also said that our toes will change shape with the ups and downs of our lives, which leads me back to my original thought. This morning, pondering a pedicure, I peered down at my feet and my second and third toes on my right foot were distinctively and oddly separated. They looked like they had a knock-down, drag-out and weren't speaking to each other. The second little piggy is the Air Toe and is associated with communication while the middle toe is the Fire Toe or the "just do it" toe. And the right foot represents your relationships with those around you (the left foot is associated with your spiritual side and sense of self). Interestingly enough, I've been struggling to finish an article that I've been writing for a local publication and just haven't seemed to be able to get it done. It was due weeks ago and I know the editor's patience is running thin but for some reason, I'm stuck. My toes are practically screaming out to me to just finish the dang thing before my relationship with her is damaged and I'll be doomed to wearing close-toed shoes the rest of my life. Fascinating. I'll keep you posted on whether my second and third toes kiss and make up after I turn in the article. To learn more about the art of toe reading, visit Toe Reading Online or the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe.
