Pretty and Pink: The LOreal Paris Vive Pro Nutri Gloss Haircare Line

Some people are drawn to sparkly stuff. Or stuff with flowers. Or with skulls and crossbones. Me? I'm drawn to anything pink. Just one peek in my closet tells the story. So when I came upon the Barbie-pink bottles of the L'Oreal Paris Vive Pro Nutri Gloss line in my local grocery store, I had to stop, take a deep breath and tell myself that I was just going to look. Of course, next thing you know, the shampoo, conditioner and conditioning treatment are lined up in my shower. I don't what happened. Maybe I blacked out for a while. Regardless, here was my chance to give it a whirl. The Nutri Gloss line is formulated with a pearl protein complex for "medium to long hair that's damaged." Yep, that's me (they also make a version for normal to fine hair). Voted "Best Normal Hair Shampoo and Conditioner" by Allure magazine in 2007, both the shampoo and conditioner held up to their claims to add shine without weight. The shampoo has a refreshing clean scent with a slightly fruity undertone, a gentle lather and rinsed clean. I wasn't crazy about the scent of the daily conditioner but it helped detangle my thick, cranky hair and with prolonged use promises to help prevent split ends. That means one less hair-cut to worry about. But it's the Nutri Gloss Conditioning Treatment that was the shining star for me. Best used as a weekly deep conditioner, the treatment left my hair super soft, shiny, slightly scented and free of my normal cotton-candy ends. Granted, I did let my hair natural dry that day but even the next day, my hair had a soft, wavy natural look with a silky shine. For the money (about $3.99 in most drugstores and mass market retailers), I'm sold. Plus, the pink bottles look good in my shower.
