Orange Crush Body Peel

A super-stimulating, super-easy citrus salt glow.

This invigorating scrub is great for shedding that outer layer of dulling, dead skin cells. The orange peel conditions skin while the salt and oil mixture reveals your true inner glow. Shine on!

Here's what you do:

Mix salt, oil and zest in a bowl. For an extra punch of fragrance add a few drops of orange essential oil, which has astringent and skin conditioning properties. In the shower or bath, use all over the body but avoid face and sensitive areas or open cuts. Focus on elbows, knees and feet and never shave before using a salt scrub, only after.

  • 1/3 cup of fine sea salt
  • 1/3 cup of safflower oil
  • Zest of one orange
  • 2 to 3 drops orange essential oil (optional)

Do-It-Yourself Tips:

  • Try out your concoctions on an inconspicuous place like your forearm before you go slathering it all your body and have fun!
  • Use recipes with perishable food items such as eggs and veggies immediately or store in an airtight container up to one week in the frig.
  • Vodka, witch hazel, vinegar and lemon juice are natural preservatives and help extend the life of a DIY mixture.
  • Sugar and salt scrubs generally keep for a couple months as long as the container has a tight seal.
  • Store aromatherapy massage oils in a dark, well-sealed glass container for up to 6 months.
  • For gifts, consider separating the dry ingredients from the liquid and giving the recipient directions on how to mix them in one-use increments.
