I Heart You Soaps
Heart-shaped soaps for you or the one you love.
Okay all you non-cooks, making soap the Spa Girl way is about as easy as making Jell-O. Embellish these sweet heart-shaped soaps with whatever strikes your fancy: a key to your apartment, your phone number spelled out with little charms, silk flowers or whatever non-spoiling/non-perishable items your heart desires (pardon the pun)!
Here's what you do:
Cut soap into small cubes. In a double boiler, bring water to boil, turn the heat down to simmer and then add soap. Stir soap gently until it melts. Remove from heat, allow the liquid to cool slightly and then add fragrance (start with just a few drops at a time). Pour the liquid slowly into soap molds. Allow it to congeal slightly for about a minute before you add your creative items to the soap. Un-mold after two hours. Use a dull knife to gently pry soap from the mold.
You'll need:
- Melt-and-pour transparent soap block in red or pink
- Heart-shaped soap molds
- Essential or fragranced oils of your choice
