Better than Chocolate Body Scrub

Get a cocoa kick from this self-loving body polish.

Legend has it that the great Mayan Emperor Montezuma tossed back some 50 cups of chocolate a day. My question is: What did he have for dessert? Today, the good news about chocolate, especially the dark variety, just keeps on coming. Not only does it kick up the feel-good juices in our brains, but chocolate is loaded with anti-aging vitamins and minerals. Plus, the caffeine in cocoa is said to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. Bring on the cocoa!

Here's what you do:

Combine ingredients in a bowl. Use whenever cravings hit by massaging into skin and rinsing with warm water in the shower. Store in an airtight container up to six months.

You'll need:

  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1/4 cup powered cocoa
  • a few drops of chocolate and/or raspberry fragranced oil

  • Sugar and salt scrubs generally keep for a couple months as long as the container has a tight seal.
  • Store aromatherapy massage oils in a dark, well-sealed glass container for up to 6 months.
  • For gifts, consider separating the dry ingredients from the liquid and giving the recipient directions on how to mix them in one-use increments.
