National STRESStation sits so inconspicuously in a quiet corner of Scottsdale Fashion Square that you'd never suspect what a wonderful impact it could make on your day. This afternoon, I am at the mall to run a business errand and grab a bite to eat, when I realize I have an extra thirty minutes before my next appointment. With too little time to stop at the office and too much time to show up early to my next destination, I quickly scan my clothes, make-up, shoes, and baby needs. Nothing - drat. As a new mom, "extra" and "time" rarely appear in the same thought string, so I pick up my purse and start walking to my car, figuring I might just remember something I've been meaning to pick up as I scan the mall stores. And then I noticed it ... STRESStation. I paused for a moment, thinking, "what I really need is a massage", shook my head and kept walking. And after passing about ten stores, I make a U turn without stopping and head straight back to "at least check out the prices" I think.

I am so glad I stop because I learn that the prices are very reasonable (a little bit less than $1 a minute at the time of my visit). I ask for the 20-minute chair massage and an appointment is immediately available. Admittedly, I wonder if the people that work here are talented; with affordable pricing and convenient location, there must be a catch. After asking me about my aches and pains and then warming up the back, the masseuse performs a wonderfully healing and relaxing massage, even though I am fully clothed and sitting on a chair. As I sit there, I think, "This is so much better than new lipstick".
